sumarian

Reflection
My class split up to research on the city-states in Mesopotamia. This quarter we learned about the Paleolithic and Neolithic era as well as Mesopotamia and Egypt. My group did our project on the Sumerian. We researched the government, writing, geography, art, and more. I mostly did the writing. The Sumerians invented the first written language which is called cuneiform. This relates to the ESLO strategic learner. We had to use our time wisely and efficiently. We split up time to draw and put down information.
ancient egypt's new kingdom
Reflection
Our group did our project on the Egyptian New Kingdom. We touched on numerous topics such as geography, language, religion, social class, and art. This time in Egypt has various important and famous pharos such as Hatshepsut and Ramesses II. I specifically covered the rise and fall of the New Kingdom. The New Kingdom started when Ahmose I put an end to Hyksos rule. The end of the New Kingdom was due to many factors for example drought and the influence of the high priest.
international day: senegal
Reflection
For the international day, our class divided into groups of four or five to research on the issues of our given country. My group researched the issue of the environment. The subtopics of this are fishing, terrestrial environment. and We also had to do an activity for the day itself. My group had a "fishing" station to reflect on fishing as the main source of income for Senegal. People were blindfolded and used a spoon to get the "fish." Each fish has different numbers on each of them and the rewards were donuts and various snacks. We got the first place award for creativity.

ferdinand magellan
Reflection
For the final project of my world history class, we were to research about our chosen 14th or 15th-century explorer. I chose to research Ferdinand Magellan. He is a Portuguese explorer who changed his nationality to Spanish in order to sail west. He hoped to find the Spice Islands, but that wasn't an easy task. He wandered at sea for months with the discouraged crew. He finally found the spice islands but was killed before he departed. His legacy was significant and he proved that a westward route to the spice islands was possible. I created a journal about his early life, the reason for exploration, and the journey. Furthermore, I provided a map of his route and new discoveries he made. I added watercolor painting, pictures, and colors to improve the appearance of the product. I carefully wrote over 2000 words in this journal and appropriately placed the text with drawings.
