Printmaking
unit 5:Color Theory in German Expressionism
For this printmaking project, I choose the topic of depression. The poster said sadness has no face which means that you can feel depressed and not show it. You can seem all happy and fine on the outside and be a mess on the inside. I choose this blue color for the background because it represents sorrow and sadness. The black color on top is like a mask trying to cover the feelings. Around the girl, you can see a medal, sports jersey, and a grade a test. This girl has achieved various things and does a lot of extracurricular. On the outside, she seems like miss perfect. However, if you look closely you can see scars and tears. I added a lot of texture by hatching around the girl. Her hair also has a lot of details. I choose to put the print near the bathroom. For people who are dealing with depression, it follows them everywhere. So it was difficult to find a particular place. The reason I chose here is that when someone is really upset and sad, they might go to the bathroom to cry. This is their lowest point and this poster can cheer them up. It can also add awareness to those who don't understand what these people are going through.
ESLO: Innovative Thinkers It relates to this elso because art needs creativity. Art is something that you imagined. It is uniquely yours.

Charcoal Drawing
Unit 3: value scale

For this project, we use charcoal to create a still life drawing. We can choose between romanticism and neoclassicism. Romanticism is showing a lot of emotions through the contrast of the shadows and highlights. It is distorted and messy. The focal items are around the diagonal line. Neoclassicism, on the other hand, is structured. It has straight lines and is proportional. For my project, I chose romanticism. The items placed are messy.
ESLO: Strategic Learner For this project I applied this eslo to it in various ways. Strategic learners are intelligent at most efficiently doing their work. I placed the objects in a messy way to convey my artwork.
Plant charcoal drawing
Unit 3: value scale

For this project, I used charcoal to create a still life painting. We were given plants to draw. It was supposed to realistically depict the object. We had to take in consideration of the lights, shadows, tones, hue, and contrast of the artwork.I made the plants very plain with just the outlines. On the other hand, I made the background very textured. It is the star of this painting. It creates a uniqueness. I did various types of hatching in the background.

ESLO: Strategic Learners
I strategically placed my objects at a certain angle to create the most visually appealing look. I did many types of hatching to contrast the different texture.
self expression
For this project, We could choose whichever form of art to express ourselves. I used acrylic paint because the colors will accentuate the meaning of the painting.
ESLO: Strategic Learners
I used complimentary colors to make each object in the painting standout such as the corn. It has green and orange which creates a nice contrast.
Artist Statement:
Questions: What did you name your artwork?
I named it "Escape" because it is a wonderful memory that I had and every time I think about it. it always brings joy to me. The setting in the painting is my happy place.
What was your inspiration?
I got inspired by a memory of riding in the car and looking out the window on a hot sunny day. The breeze is just light and airly and the corn ruffles in the wind.
